What we collect, why, and who ever sees it.
Last updated 14 September 2026.
The short version
Nudge is a personal task list. What you put into it — your tasks, reminders, anything you've tucked away — is visible to you and nobody else, unless you deliberately invite someone in (see Circle of Trust below). We don't sell data, we don't show ads, and we don't share what you enter with other users.
What we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
- Task content — whatever you type, dictate, or forward in: task text, contact/client names, due dates, priorities, reminders, and any notes you add.
- Voice recordings and transcripts — if you dictate a task or use Offload, the audio is transcribed to create it; we keep the transcript so you can review "what was originally said."
- Forwarded email content — if you forward an email to your personal Nudge address, we read that email to extract a task from it.
- Optional profile info — an avatar image and phone number, only if you choose to add them (the phone number is only used for WhatsApp reminders you've explicitly enabled).
- Device and usage data — a push-notification device token if you enable mobile notifications, and ordinary web server logs (IP address, browser type) common to any website.
- Calendar access — only if you connect Google Calendar: permission to create, update, and remove the specific calendar events Nudge creates on your behalf. We don't read your existing calendar.
How it's used
Task and voice content is sent to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) solely to figure out what you're asking for — who it's for, what it is, when it's due — so Nudge can turn it into a task. It's used for that parsing step only, not for anything else. If you've set up WhatsApp or push-notification reminders, the relevant message content is sent to that provider (Twilio for WhatsApp, Firebase for push) purely to deliver the reminder itself. None of these providers get standing access to your account or your task list as a whole — only the specific piece of content needed to do their one job, at the moment it's needed.
Circle of Trust
You can add someone to your Circle of Trust so they can send tasks straight into your inbox — a partner, an assistant, whoever you choose. This only ever runs one way: they can drop a task in for you, but they can never see your task list, what you've tucked away, or anything else that's yours. You can remove them at any time.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We don't show your tasks, reminders, or account details to other users.
- We don't use your task content for advertising, profiling, or training publicly-released AI models.
Your control over your data
You can edit or delete any task, offload, or contact at any time from within the app. You can disconnect Google Calendar or remove a Circle of Trust member whenever you like. To delete your account entirely — which removes your tasks, offloads, and profile — use the "Delete Account" option in Profile settings, or email us and we'll do it for you.
